Morris & Ritchie Associates, Inc. (MRA) is seeking a STRUCTURAL ENGINEER with 10 + years of experience in the wireless/telecommunications field, for our office in Towson, Maryland. The employee in this position will primarily work on an ever-changing mix of wireless projects. However, depending on company workload, the candidate may work on a variety of non-wireless structures, including design of retaining walls, bridges, and other miscellaneous structures.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading the design and analysis of wireless and non-wireless projects, which could include telecommunication facilities (monopoles, self-supporting towers, guyed towers, mounts), buildings, water tanks, their associated foundations, and a blend of other atypical structures, as well as detailing elements for steel, masonry, and concrete structures.
- Project management responsibilities which may include preparation of proposals, overseeing staff and coordinating with other disciplines in addition to evaluating system selection, design, planning and direction of construction document preparation.
- May assist with client billings to assure timely completion of projects; resolves client questions on invoices and makes follow up phone calls as needed.
- May include occasional travel for meetings, engineering inspections and mappings.
- Candidates must be capable of completing assigned work while maintaining an elevated level of quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
Successful candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. PE required and Master’s degree preferred
- Past experience with structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, and wood structures
- Experience and proficiency working in the RISA Suite (including RISA-3D, RISA Foundation, and RISA Connection)
- Experience with tnxTower, Enercalc, L-Pile, Excel and AutoCAD are a plus
- Desire to review, redline, and coach other engineers and designers work product to ensure accurate engineering deliverables
- Business development experience
- Aspiration to serve as the Engineer of Record on products as appropriate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
